Icarus Musicworks

Classical and theatrical concerts and recordings
by world-class artists who do more than perform

“Romancing America”

Capturing the spirit of America’s rich and varied cultural heritage, this concert celebrates composers who drew their inspiration from the American experience – its folk traditions, its ethnic diversity, its majestic landscape – to forge a unique style which the world has come to know as American music.

Travel with us from the Old South to Duke Ellington’s Harlem, from the New England of Charles Ives to Appalachia and the Great Plains of Aaron Copland. Also music by Stephen Foster, Louis Gottschalk, American Spirituals, plus compositions by Ned Rorem, David Diamond, Leonard Bernstein, David Amram and John Musto.
